Chennai has an International Airport situated at Tirisulam 7 Km south of Chennai. It has two terminals.

International Airport facilitates passengers from London, Frankfurt, Dubai, Muscat, Bahrain, Dhahran, Jeddah, Singapore, Kula Lampur and Sri Lanka. Besides AIR INDIA and INDIAN AIRLINES several International carriers viz. BRITISH AIRWAYS, LUFTHANSA, SINGAPORE AIRLINES, MALAYSIAN AIRLINES, AIR LANKA, OMAN AIR, GULF AIR and SAUDIA AIRLINES are operating flights to and from Chennai.

Metro Bus Services, Local Train Services, Taxies and Auto-rickshaws will help you to reach the airport.

1. Reservation and Reconfirmation

All onward or return reservations must be reconfirmed whenever there is a break-journey of 72 hours or more. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of the reservation. Reconfirmation is not necessary, when a passenger breaks his journey at a point for less than 72 hours.

For International flights -- 3 hours before departure

Hand Baggages

All baggage whether checked in or carried in hand is subject to security check. Security regulations allow only one piece of hand baggage into the passenger cabin.

Piece System for USA/CANADA Passengers

This is applicable on flights to/from USA and Canada, both when the baggage is through checked to/from USA and Canada, and when a stopover is made at an intermediate point.

4. Baggage Excess Weight

Excess & oversized hand baggage will be retrieved under limited release tag at the airport security check & will be put on the cargo hold. Appropriate excess baggage charges will be levied for the same.
