 Mission
To promote and encourage quality participation and performance by Tamilnadu sportspersons at national and international events through recognition, quality training, support schemes, and world-class infrastructure.

 Structure
The Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu is a Society registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975. It is headed by the Hon'ble Cheif Minister of Tamilnadu Selvi J Jayalalithaa as its chair person. The management of the Authority is entrusted with an Executive Comittee chaired by the Hon'ble Minister for Sports & Youth Welfare Thiru Inbathtamilan as its Chairman.
Dr.B. Sivanthi Adityan and Thiru W.I.Davaram, IPS (Retd.) are nominated by the Government as Vice President (Executive) and Vice President respectively. The administrative control of the Authority is vested withYouth Welfare & Sports Development Department in Secretariat headed by Tmt. Susan Mathew I.A.S as Secretary. Thiru P.W.C. Davidar I.A.S, the Member Secretary is the Chief Executive of the Authority.
